September 3-7, 2026
Yes! My son Spencer and his fiance Ashleigh came to visit me and my wife at our Idaho cabin! It had been many years and the last time he visited, it was Thanksgiving and we had a ton of snow! This trip was so different. We had incredible weather, visited a lot of beautiful places and it was Ashleigh’s first visit, which made it very special!
Arrival Day – September 3rd
We drove separately to Victor, stopping at the Idaho Falls Costco along the way for provisions. It was an easy drive and arriving in the afternoon gave us time to chat on the deck and BBQ. This was a two dog trip which was why we drove separate cars. For the most part, Ripley and Molly did get along just fine!
Jackson Outing – September 4th
We began the day with a trip over Teton pass to Jackson. First up was a trip to the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Wow! Was this place impressive!

And of course, the MIllion Dollar Cowboy Bar!
Next: Dinner at the Merry Piglets Mexican Grill in honor of their engagement
Teton River Float – September 5th
No fishing on this float. It was an eco tour but it did not disappoint. Beautiful scenery and a three moose evening!

That’s a wrap for this visit. It was so great to spend time with Spencer and Ashleigh and share our favorite places in Teton Valley Idaho, Jackson Hole Wyoming and Teton National Park! We pack a lot into a short visit but there is still so much to see and do on the next one.
